A Great Way to Get Started
Guitar for beginners at NAMS is a great way to get started on your musical journey. Our instructors help students identify their musical preferences and teach them songs they love, rather than starting with dry theory. Instead of focusing heavily on theory initially, our teachers assess your musical genre preferences and begin instruction with songs that inspired you to pick up the guitar.
Students can choose between 30 or 60-minute individual sessions. As you build foundational skills with hand placement and chords, you’ll learn the theory behind your playing in context — making it stick. Our creative approach keeps you motivated because you’re always working on music that excites you.

From Individual Lessons to Band Sessions
Once students progress individually, they may join band sessions with experienced peers. This collaborative setting helps students explore creative capabilities, learn full compositions, and potentially write original music. Many of our former students have become respected musicians in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Whether you dream of playing acoustic campfire songs, electric rock riffs, or classical fingerpicking, our instructors will create a customized path to get you there.
